Ryan & Associates has a history of successful projects for Monmouth College and was awarded this project as a design-assist partner after an RFP process that included preliminary budgeting. The project itself consisted of the full renovation of a 3 story, 25,000 sq. ft. residence hall, initially built in 1940. Ryan was able to work with the design team to coordinate mechanical systems and routing that would not detract from the historic character.
The contract included all plumbing, mechanical piping, ductwork and BMS controls. The mechanical renovation added air condition to the facility and utilized vertical stack hi-rise fan coil units for the housing spaces, and a combination of horizontal and cabinet fan coils for the other spaces. Plumbing renovations included adding a suite of private bathrooms on each individual floor.
